美国医学与生物学会会员（Fellow, American Institute of Medical and Biological）、英国材料学会会员（Fellow, Institute of Materials, UK.）、英国特许工程师（Chartered Engineer, UK.）、英国医学物理与工程学会会员（Fellow, Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, UK.）、美国生物材料科学与工程学会会员(Fellow, Biomaterials Science and Engineering, USA）、英国Academy of Experts院士以及欧洲科学院院士（Member, Academia Europaea.），自2003年以来任欧洲生物材料学会教育委员会主席，从1995年至今任Biomaterials（《生物材料》，2006年的影响因子为5.196）主编，曾担任CRC Critical Reviews in Biocompatibility，Materials in Medicine，Journal of Biomedical Materials Research，Journal of Materials Science，British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery，Bulletin of Medical Polymers，Medical Engineering and Physics和Biomedical Materials and Engineering等SCI收录期刊的编委。
1996年，Williams教授因其“对生物材料科学做出的杰出贡献”被欧洲生物材料学会授予“乔治温特奖（GEORGE WINTER AWARD）”；2003年被英国生物材料学会授予“总统奖（the Presidential Prize）”。
2011年，David Franklyn Williams教授受聘成为北京航空航天大学名誉教授。 |
